Cosms are the realms that have invaded this world, and that alter the rules of reality itself. Some Cosms are primitive and violent in nature, while others are more technologically advanced. The Cosms are rules by Axioms and World Laws. The combination of these overarching controls mandate what is and is not possible in that Cosms reality.
Axioms are the limits of development and what is possible in a Cosm, based on 4 areas of development. Magic, Social, Spirit and Tech. The measures range from 0 (Non-existent) to 30 (pervasive and universally available)
Magic determines how the arcane energy that exists in the world may be used, and how strongly it affects the world. It determines the types of magic that can be used, how strongly they affect the world.
Social determines not only the types of relationships and connections that can exist between individuals and groups. At high levels, the interconnectedness of individuals allows for psionics to exist.
Spirit is the measure of availability of power of divine energy. This is represented as faith in gods, or natural forces.
Tech is the knowledge and ability to control the physical energy and laws of nature.
World laws are manifestations that are a result of the theme/flavour of the cosm in question. These laws may reward/encourage actions or decisions that support these themes, or may punish/resist those that go against them.
In the pulp-action realm of The Nile Empire, heroes may be especially resilient and have special abilities, while in the Victorian horror realm of Orrorsh, the monsters are very real, very sinister, and should be feared.
